This golden air fryer garlic bread is crisp on the outside, soft in the center, and full of buttery garlic flavor, making it a perfect side for various dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium baguette or Italian loaf (about 12–14 inches), or 8–10 thick slices
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 3–4 garlic cloves, finely minced (about 1½ tablespoons)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Lemon zest, to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for 3 minutes.
  2. Slice the bread into 1-inch thick pieces or split the loaf lengthwise.
  3. Mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes in a bowl until smooth.
  4. Spread a layer of garlic butter onto each slice or the cut sides of the halved loaf and sprinkle Parmesan on top if desired.
  5. Arrange the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  6. Air fry at 360°F (182°C) for 4–6 minutes until golden, or 6–8 minutes for thicker slices, adding cheese in the last 1–2 minutes.
  7. Remove, garnish with parsley or lemon zest, and serve hot.

Notes

Use day-old bread for the best crunch. Store leftovers wrapped in foil for up to 1 day.
