A beloved dish featuring tender chicken marinated in spices and yogurt, cooked in a creamy tomato sauce.

  • 1 lb chicken breast, diced
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons tikka masala spice blend
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup coconut milk or cream
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine yogurt, tikka masala spice, and salt. Add diced chicken and mix well. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped onions, garlic, and ginger, sauté until onions are golden.
  3. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned on all sides.
  4. Pour in the tomato sauce and coconut milk. Stir well and let it simmer for about 15 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked.
  5. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with tofu or chickpeas. For a lighter dish, use Greek yogurt or light coconut milk.
