Bite-sized naan pockets filled with melty cheese and warm spices, perfect for snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium store-bought naan breads or 1 lb ready-made pizza dough (divided into 20 pieces)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella (or a mozzarella-cheddar mix)
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar, shredded
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped and lightly sautéed (optional)
  • 1 small green chili, finely chopped (or 1/2 tsp chili flakes)
  • 1 tsp garam masala (or 3/4 tsp cumin + 1/4 tsp ground coriander)
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds or nigella seeds for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. In a bowl, combine shredded cheeses, sautéed onion (if using), green chili, garam masala, cilantro, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. If using dough, divide into 20 equal pieces. Flatten each piece into a small disk. If using naan, cut and press into round-ish squares.
  4. Place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each disk. Fold the dough around the filling and pinch to seal. Roll gently to form a smooth ball.
  5. Place seam-side down on the prepared sheet. Repeat until all bombs are formed.
  6. Mix melted butter with minced garlic and brush each bomb lightly. Sprinkle with sesame or nigella seeds if you like.
  7. Bake for 12–16 minutes, or until golden and puffed. Rotate the pan halfway if your oven bakes unevenly.
  8. Let rest 2–3 minutes, then serve warm with chutney, yogurt dip, or a tangy tomato sauce.

Notes

These naan bombs travel well and freeze nicely. Make a double batch for a party and reheat for a delicious snack.
